CDR-Acadie and the Consortium of Cooperative Resources and Expertise

consolidate their partnership

Caraquet (NB), February 25, 2021 – The Coopérative de développement régional-Acadie and the Consortium de ressources et d’expertises coopératives are joining forces for the benefit of social enterprises in the Atlantic Provinces. The two cooperatives are entering into an agreement aimed at mutually strengthening their support capacity.

“As a member of the Consortium, we have access to its range of specialized services, but we saw a real opportunity to take our collaboration to the next level,” explains Marc Henrie, Executive Director of CDR-Acadie. While this new partnership will give Atlantic cooperatives and NPOs access to the expertise they need, it will also allow for the sharing of best business practices between the two organizations, in a spirit of cooperation in keeping with the principles of the International Cooperative Association.

The Consortium’s Executive Director, Mr. J. Benoit Caron, shares the enthusiasm of his counterpart. “The CDR-Acadie is an innovative and dynamic organization. Everyone will come out a winner from this initiative, especially the companies we support,” he said, before pointing out that the fifty or so professionals working in the shared services center are strengthening their expertise through contact with member organizations, such as CDR-Acadie, and this, to the benefit of the following mandates.
